Restoring Athletic Field Marker Performance--Model E-100

Turf _Tips, Product_Review

Over the course of product support we'll receive calls from "new" customers that have inherited a piece of equipment. The woman's soccer program at Northwestern State University became owner's of a poorly maintained Model E-100 that was not performing properly, e.g., providing a sufficient spray fan coverage for a 4 inch line. Tru Mark provided a couple suggestion on cleaning, trouble shooting, and likely replacement parts that would return the unit to full operational performance.

An image of the Model E-100 represents a late model unit with the pump head facing the rear for easy access to pump valve kit without removing the pump motor from the deck and a rigid intake line assembly to improve the maximum paint uptake from the paint tank. The spary wand hose is connected on the side of the deck using the quick connect/disconnect coupler.

There is a serial number on the bottom of the deck that can be used to help pinpoint the date of purchase (and original owner) when contacting Tru Mark.

The customer had demonstrated the unit operated with clean water, which is a recommended setup and operational procedure during the course of the field marking season. If the pump doesn't prime with water then additional trouble shooting steps need to be taken. For example putting your hand over the intake line assembly (screened end) and verifying the vacuum affect from the pump operation. If there is no vacuum/pumping affect when the pump motor is running then the pump valve kit or pump diaphragm kit is the likely offending part. Please refer to the Tru Mark Photo Album with descriptions on the parts replacement process for the Shurlfo pump.

For a closeup of the "plumbing" of the Model E-100 please refer to another Tru Mark Photo Album with many of the E-100 parts details.
